Write for us
We welcome pitches that help general readers see design decisions more clearly. Send proposals through the Contact page, with a short outline and the relevant reason for writing.
What fits
We are interested in reported or carefully explained pieces about objects, graphics, spaces, interfaces and design history. Strong subjects have a clear question, a useful point of comparison or a specific detail that changes how a reader understands a familiar design.
A useful pitch
Tell us the working idea, the central point you want to establish, the likely structure and why it matters to readers. Note the sources or access the piece would need. Keep claims proportionate, identify uncertainty and avoid turning an opinion into a universal rule.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send a pitch. Please include your name and a way to reply through the form. A proposal is not a commission; do not begin work on the assumption that it has been accepted.
Good design deserves a second look.
A clean appearance is not proof that something works well. We look at the decisions underneath, including whose needs were considered and whose were missed.
